Story
Shawn (Selase Botchway), a gifted but troubled young boxer, is trying to break free from the cycle of violence that has ruled his life in the gritty streets of a small Texas town. Shawn, plagued by a past filled with betrayal and loss, is on the verge of giving up on his goals. His close relationship with his younger sister Leo (Kenneisha Thompson) and his training sessions with Coach Mac (Gerardo Davila) are his only sources of comfort.
Carmine (Andrew Worley), a new adversary, appears as Shawn prepares for an important championship match. Carmine is a vicious combatant with ties to the criminal underworld, and Shawn’s life is put in even greater danger by his presence. Shawn’s world starts to fall apart as the stakes are higher than ever. Carmine’s inner demons, his men’s pressure, and the threat of violence combine to create a tumultuous storm.
A retired detective with a personal grudge against the local crime syndicate named Uncle Phil (Douglas Cunningham) turns out to be an unlikely ally. He believes Shawn has potential and provides him with vital support, but Carmine’s cunning plans and the syndicate’s unrelenting pursuit put their partnership to the test.
Shawn has to get through a number of risky encounters as the title bout approaches, including a pivotal showdown with Carmine and his goons. Shawn finds himself at a crossroads where he must face both outside threats and his own inner turmoil, with his life and future at stake.
A compelling action drama, The Lines Between delves into themes of redemption, fortitude, and the fuzziness of the boundaries between good and evil. The film grips viewers from start to finish with pivotal fight scenes, intense emotional drama, and a compelling tale of personal struggle.
Plot
The Lines Between delves into the intersecting lives of multiple characters as they confront their personal demons and the consequences of their decisions in the gritty underbelly of Texas. Shawn (Selase Botchway), a former fighter who is now a reluctant mentor, is the main character of the story. He must forge a perilous path to keep his young pupil Leo (Kenneisha Thompson) safe from a violent gang headed by Carmine (Andrew Worley). The distinctions between right and wrong become more hazy as tensions mount and allegiances change, and each character must make a crucial choice that will determine their future.
The movie delves deeply into themes of loyalty, atonement, and the consequences of past choices. Shawn’s own difficult past and the influence of his estranged Uncle Phil (Douglas Cunningham) make it difficult for him to protect Leo. Shawn and Leo are being guided by Coach Mac (Gerardo Davila), but Ray (Damian Turner) and Saul (M. Serrano) are causing more chaos by pursuing personal grudges. As the gang’s threats grow more terrifying, the stakes rise and everyone involved is forced to face their darkest desires and fears.
