Story
The Forge chronicles the journey of 19-year-old Isaiah Wright, who loves video games and basketball but is aimless in his life. Isaiah finds himself without a job or a defined career path after high school. His single mother Cynthia is the source of tension as she gives him a deadline to move out or find a purpose.
Plot Summary
Cynthia, Isaiah Wright’s mother, is annoyed by his lack of direction and is at odds with the recent high school graduate. Isaiah grudgingly takes a job at Moore Fitness after receiving a warning to either start taking responsibility or leave the house. Joshua Moore, the gym’s owner, turns into an unanticipated mentor who helps Isaiah face his past and the failings that have prevented him from moving forward. Isaiah learns the importance of faith and sacrifice in discovering his true calling as he makes his way through the trials of adulthood and personal responsibility.
When Isaiah starts working at Moore Fitness, he has no idea how this new position will affect his life. Along with his mother’s prayers, the gym owner’s advice helps him face his past as he makes his way through this new chapter. Isaiah gains valuable insights into sacrifice, accountability, and the role of faith in finding a higher purpose through this life-changing event.
