Story
In “Homestead,” when modern society implodes, a remote mountain community is left on its own. The community’s ability to remain safe is reliant on the combined might of its rural families and the wisdom of its seasoned military members, particularly wealthy man Ian Ross (Neal McDonough), who foresaw the approaching chaos. The residents of the compound must strike a balance between human decency and survival instincts as internal conflicts and external threats intensify, testing their resolve and unity in the face of a dystopian future.
Plot Summary
“Homestead” takes place in a society that is falling apart quickly. The movie is about a rich guy who built a compound in the mountains to escape the chaos that is taking over the world. The compound is managed by former military personnel who enforce rigorous security protocols and orderly procedures to guarantee the security and effectiveness of the facility. There is, however, a sharp contrast and inevitable conflict between the military’s authoritarian approach and the families’ desire for a more humane and community-focused way of life because the compound is also home to a number of families who adhere to traditional rural values. The inhabitants must resolve their internal conflicts and figure out how to live together in this new reality as external threats intensify.
