Story
Bloodlines, a terrifying sequel to the acclaimed Final Destination series, offers a brand-new chapter of terrifying terror and complex death traps. This installment is expected to deliver the trademark mix of suspense and gore that has made the franchise famous. It is set in the dark interior of a high-tech skyscraper in Vancouver.
Plot
At the grand opening of the imposing Metronix Tower, a group of driven young professionals are present at a high-stakes networking event. The skyscraper is praised for its state-of-the-art engineering, cutting-edge technology, and ground-breaking safety features.
Riley Harper, the lead character in the story (portrayed by Brec Bassinger), is an ambitious architect who vividly predicts a disastrous event. Her vision is of the tower collapsing in a cascade of explosive failures, killing every person inside. Riley, distraught and in a panic, tries to alert her friends and coworkers, but her accusations are written off as paranoia.
Her premonition starts to materialize, and the night of the event becomes a nightmare in spite of her warnings. The Metronix Tower suffers a series of fatal malfunctions, leading to a chain reaction of deadly accidents. Panic spreads as the building’s state-of-the-art systems malfunction, causing elevators to plummet, fire alarms to fail, and structural supports to give way.
The survivors learn that the catastrophe was not an accident but rather the result of a malevolent plan as they struggle to flee. Built on a cursed site, the tower’s engineers—among them the mysterious Mr. Fuller, played by Mark Brandon—unintentionally set off a chain reaction of predetermined deaths. Riley must make her way through the building’s perilous maze with the help of her friends and a few surprising allies in order to discover the truth about the curse.
Each inventive and relentless death trap they encounter on their journey is more gory than the last. They quickly come to understand that leaving the tower alone will not be enough; they also need to face the sinister past that has resurfaced and locate the enigmatic character known only as William Bludworth (who is supposedly portrayed by Tony Todd), who is thought to hold the key to lifting the curse.
The survivors have to face the vengeful force that caused the disaster, along with their worst fears. They are getting closer to realizing that the evil force influencing their destiny from the shadows, not the building itself, is the true enemy with every second that passes.
