Story
“Dante’s Inferno” is an account of Dante Alighieri’s experiences in Hell based on his well-known epic poem. In the opening moments of the film, Dante finds himself lost in a pitch-black forest and is threatened by three vicious beasts. Roman poet Virgil is sent to Dante by his beloved Beatrice, and Virgil ends up saving him. With the ultimate goal of reaching Lucifer’s home at Earth’s center, Virgil guides Dante through the nine circles of Hell, each of which represents a different sin. The film portrays Dante’s descent in a visually and narratively inventive way, offering viewers a profound look into the afterlife and encouraging self-reflection on their own lives.
Plot Summary
