Netflix Renews ‘Berlin’ for Season 2: More Heists, More Drama

Netflix has announced the return of its hit series “Berlin,” the spinoff from “Money Heist,” for a second season. The streaming giant shared the news, along with a new photo of the cast, stating that the iconic character Berlin, played by Pedro Alonso, will be back with a new heist and more love.

The first season of “Berlin” was a massive success, becoming the most-watched series globally during its premiere week. It also reached the top 10 in 91 countries and has since remained in the top 10 for seven consecutive weeks in non-English TV. With a total of 348 million hours viewed and 53 million total views, “Berlin” now ranks ninth among the most-watched non-English language series in Netflix’s history.

The cast of “Berlin” season 2 will feature familiar faces from the first season, including Michelle Jenner as Keila, an expert in electronic engineering; Tristán Ulloa as Damián, a philanthropic professor and Berlin’s confidant; Begoña Vargas as Cameron, who always lives on the edge; Julio Peña Fernández as Roi, Berlin’s faithful squire; and Joel Sánchez as Bruce, the relentless man of action in the gang.

Created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, the filming of the second season of “Berlin” is set to begin in 2025. The series is produced by Pina’s TV production company Vancouver Media, which is currently working on “El refugio atómico” (The Fallout Shelter) for Netflix. This drama series follows a group of multimillionaires seeking refuge in a luxury bunker as World War III looms.

Fans of “Money Heist” and “Berlin” can look forward to more thrilling heists and drama as the second season of “Berlin” promises to deliver another exciting chapter in the story of these beloved characters.
