“Yuru Yuri,” meaning “Easygoing Yuri,” is a Japanese manga penned by Namori. It made its debut in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime S magazine in June 2008 before transitioning to Comic Yuri Hime in September 2010. The manga served as the inspiration for an anime adaptation produced by Doga Kobo, which aired from July to September 2011, followed by a second season from July to September 2012. Additional animated content includes an original video animation by TYO Animations in February 2015, accompanied by two TV specials broadcasted in August and September 2015. Subsequently, a third TV season by TYO Animations aired from October to December 2015. A commemorative OVA by Lay-duce, celebrating the series’ tenth anniversary, premiered on November 13, 2019, later broadcasted on AT-X on February 23, 2020. Additionally, a spin-off original net animation titled Miniyuri, produced by DMM.futureworks and W-Toon Studio, debuted on YouTube on September 25, 2019. The franchise also encompasses a spin-off web manga titled Ōmuro-ke, which commenced serialization on Nico Nico Seiga in July 2012. Two anime film adaptations of Ōmuro-ke, produced by Passione and Studio Lings, were released in February and June 2024, respectively.

STORYLINE

Set in the fictional Nanamori Middle School located in Takaoka, Toyama,[2], the story follows the everyday experiences of the Amusement Club (Goraku-bu). This group includes Akari Akaza, along with her childhood companions Kyōko Toshinō and Yui Funami, as well as her classmate Chinatsu Yoshikawa. Additionally, the narrative involves the school’s Student Council, which comprises its own distinct cast of characters.
