STORYLINE
Takuzo Axoe, the head of the Axoe Zaibatsu, receives a notification from Kaito Kid regarding the theft of two wakizashi swords owned by Toshizo Hijikata from a warehouse in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Inspector Nakamori, in pursuit of Kid, questions his choice of targeting swords instead of jewels. Meanwhile, Heiji Hattori and Soshi Okita participate in a kendo tournament in Hakodate, with Conan, Ran Mori, and Kazuha Toyama supporting Heiji. During the tournament, Kazuha encounters Sei Fukujo, a talented university student skilled in iaide performance. Additionally, Momiji Ooka, Kazuha’s romantic rival, arrives in Hokkaido with the intention of disrupting Heiji’s plan to confess his feelings to Kazuha.
During the theft, Heiji uncovers Kid’s disguise and engages in a rooftop confrontation, managing to recover one sword but failing to apprehend Kid. Shortly afterward, a man with a cross-shaped wound is discovered deceased in the Hakodate warehouse district, identified as Sumito Kugaki, a legal advisor to the Akie Zaibatsu. Suspecting Kid’s involvement, Conan and Heiji investigate further, discovering a hidden treasure connected to the Akie family. Brian D. Kadokura emerges as a suspect, driven by his desire for the treasure. When Kid targets Kadokura’s sword, he is ambushed by an enigmatic swordsman. Conan and Heiji intervene, defeating the swordsman and suspecting him of Kugaki’s murder. Kid admits to stealing the sword to uncover the Akie family’s treasure, leading them to Ryoe Fukujo’s residence and unraveling more of the mystery.
