Mark Ronson, the renowned music producer and composer of Barbie, recently revealed that Bradley Cooper had originally asked for Lady Gaga’s song “Joanne” for the hit film “A Star Is Born.”
In an interview with NME, Ronson shared that he was working on Gaga’s fifth studio album, also titled “Joanne,” at the same time Cooper was planning the movie. Despite Cooper’s request, Ronson decided to keep the song for Gaga’s record as he was particularly fond of it. However, despite not getting “Joanne” for the film, Cooper and Ronson collaborated on a new song for “A Star Is Born,” which turned out to be the Academy Award-winning hit “Shallow.” Ronson recalled the moment when he knew the song was a smash hit as Gaga’s voice echoed through the studio in Malibu, expressing excitement as she began to sing the iconic lines, “I’m off the deep end…”
