Mandy Moore disclosed that one of her sons is experiencing a health condition. The “Candy” singer shared a picture of her two-year-old son Gus with a red rash on his body on Friday (July 28) along with information on his recently discovered disease on her Instagram Stories.

“On Saturday morning, this beautiful boy awoke with a terrible rash. Perhaps an eczema flare, we reasoned. Oak poison? She captioned the picture, “Allergy.”

“We did all we could to help him get rid of the itch while trying to figure out what it might be. to the emergency room. Dermatologist, paediatric dermatologist, and paediatrician. He continues to smile and live his life like the rockstar that he is throughout.

She continued, “Turns out it’s a viral childhood rash that just spontaneously appears called Gianotti-Crosti syndrome. It sometimes accompanies a cold but not in Gus’ case. It’s all over his legs and feet and the backs of his arms but nowhere else. There’s nothing to do but a steroid cream and Benadryl at night. And it could last 6-8 weeks.”

Gianotti Crosti syndrome, according to the National Institute of Health, is “a rare childhood skin condition characterised by a papular rash with blisters on the skin of the legs, buttocks, and arms.” According to Moore, the illness causes skin lesions that linger for at least 10 days and as long as several weeks.
