Kirk Cousins, the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, had a memorable year in 2012 since he got married to Julie Hampton and joined the NFL.

Cousins and Hampton connected through a common family friend soon after Cousins started playing professionally with the Washington Commanders (then known as the Redskins). Cousins proposed to the couple after less than two years of dating, and they were married in June 2014.

In December 2013, shortly after giving Hampton a ring, Cousins told The Washington Post, “I didn’t want a long engagement at all. But it’s clear that she needs time to plan and have the wedding she’s always wanted. However, I believe it will be enjoyable to spend a day with the entire family in one location. And all I want is for her to remember it fondly for years to come.

The couple has fostered several pets over the years and they both love animals. Abe, a Labradoodle they adopted in 2019, instantly won the hearts of the family. “We enjoyed experimenting with the various breeds and sizes. But we still struggled to decide which kind we both liked, Hampton said in a 2022 interview that was made public on the Vikings website. However, Abe is fantastic.

Soon after his proposal, Cousins admitted to The Washington Post that “I was very anxious.” “I was holding her hand on the way down in the car, and as we drew near the Capitol building, she asked, ‘Why are your hands cold and sweaty?'” I lied and replied, “I don’t know,” but I was aware that it was because I was so anxious.
2014: Hampton and Cousins got married in Atlanta. Cousins has since continued to play with his wedding band on his finger. “My wife was thrilled,” Cousins stated to USA Today in 2016. We want to make an investment in this wonderful community, and we see this purchase as a chance to accomplish that while preserving the existence of a golf course that has been since 1926.
2023: The duo was a part of the Netflix documentary series Quarterback, which also starred Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
