Inmate with survivalist abilities Michael Burham, who has been on the run for a week, may be seen on a doorbell video that Pennsylvania police claim was recorded “the last couple of days” ago.

At a news conference, Pennsylvania State Police Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens said that the sighting of Burham was recorded around 5 a.m. south of Warren, a small community in northern Pennsylvania about 60 miles from Lake Erie. Burham is seen slowly walking past a house “towards the woods.”

“I won’t tell you what day, I will tell you that it’s been just within the last couple of days and it is in an area south of the city of Warren,” Bivens said. “I really don’t want to get more specific than that – in the event that Burham is somehow able to access media reports of things. I don’t want him to know exactly where cameras are that we’ve received information from and could potentially receive more.”

“I think what it tells us is that he does prefer to travel at night,” Bivens said. “It’s difficult to travel at night. It’s difficult to travel quickly at night.”
“I think he’s desperate to survive, I think he’s desperate to avoid being caught by the police,” Bivens said.

The lieutenant colonel continued, “Police believe Burham may have hurt himself during the prison break, and he appears to be walking with a little bit of a limp.” The escaped prisoner has been missing for a week, and according to the police, this is the most recent sighting of him. Although he said that he has no reason to think that Burham is any more of a threat on Friday than he was the day before, he persisted in advising residents to remain vigilant.

I have no reason, once more, to begin telling people that we want to close down specific places or that they need to be anything other than vigilant, keep away from him, and call the police right away if they think they may have seen him, the man added.

Due to an arson and burglary case, Burham was behind bars. He is allegedly a suspect in a New York homicide from May, according to police.

He fled last Thursday just before midnight from an exercise yard on top of the Warren County Prison, which houses up to 140 inmates serving terms of two years or less in jail or those who are awaiting trial.
