Trachtenberg shared, “I can’t really say anything about that right now, but I’ll say while we were finishing the movie, we were having really exciting conversations…about what crazy things could we do next. And I’ve never stopped, no one stopped thinking about how cool things could be going forward.”

“Prey,” which was released on Hulu in 2022, served as a prequel to the renowned Predator franchise. The film follows the journey of Naru, a young Comanche woman played by Amber Midthunder, as she confronts a menacing Predator. Despite being released on a streaming platform, “Prey” garnered praise from both critics and audiences alike for its unique take on the franchise and its diverse cast of Native and First Nation’s talent.

The movie showcased a predominantly Indigenous cast, including Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, and Julian Black Antelope. Dane DiLiegro portrayed the formidable Predator in the film.

“Prey” marked a milestone by offering audiences the option to watch the film entirely in the Comanche language or with Comanche subtitles. This groundbreaking approach made it the first feature-length movie on a direct-to-consumer streaming platform to be fully accessible in the Comanche language.

While details about the potential sequel remain under wraps, the director’s tease of “exciting conversations” has undoubtedly ignited curiosity among fans. As discussions continue to unfold, fans of the “Prey” universe will be eagerly awaiting any updates about the next chapter in the franchise.
