Storyline
The protagonist of “Detained” is Rebecca Kamen (Abbie Cornish), who awakens in a police interrogation room forgetting everything that happened the night before. “A good film. I am not really sure why I decided to watch this film. Perhaps it was the brief description on IMDb that drew my eye. There was a chance that this movie would be intriguing because I have seen a lot of fantastic films with similar premise. Detained reminds me a lot of the Saw movies, in which a group of people with very different backgrounds but a common experience wake up in a room and are unable to recall how they got there. However, this is not a bloody-trap-filled horror movie like the Saw films. This movie, at times in an unduly simplistic manner, plays everyone against each other through manipulation and dialogue. Although the film has some twists and turns, a seasoned moviegoer like me would need more to be fooled. The fact that I saw how it would end fairly early in the movie is a drawback. But it is not a boring movie, so if you’re bored and don’t really know what to do, you could give this one a chance.”
