After experiencing a heat-related medical emergency during his performance at the XFinity Theatre in Connecticut last night, country artist Jason Aldean claims he is recovering. As a result, the act had to be curtailed short.

In a video uploaded to his Instagram Story on Sunday, Aldean said, “I’ve had a lot of people checking in on me today after hearing about what happened last night at the show,” before thanking those who did. “I’m doing fine,” he declared.

He went on to claim that he believed he had “a combination of dehydration and heat exhaustion,” but refrained from calling it “heat stroke,” stating, “I don’t think it was quite that serious.”Aldean claimed that after the incident, he was given two IVs.

Anyone who attended the performance last night will attest to how intense and hot it was. He continued, “I was trying to get through as much of the show as I could, and eventually it was just like, I knew it wasn’t going to happen, and I was trying to just get off stage and figure out what was going on.”

Audience members’ social media posts demonstrate how Aldean plainly struggles to finish a song before leaving the stage.

On the opening night of his “Highway Desperado” tour, he thanked his supporters for attending the performance and added, “obviously, that’s not the way I wanted the show to end.”

Aldean’s concert will be rescheduled for a later date, the venue announced on its verified Facebook page early on Sunday. A spokeswoman for Aldean also confirmed that “he is now doing well.”

Aldean said in his Instagram video that “We’ll come back and make it up to you,” adding that “I’m feeling a lot better” and confirming that he will still perform his gig in Saratoga Springs on Sunday.
