In 2015, Amber Heard, the Aquaman actress, disclosed a tumultuous chapter in her relationship with Johnny Depp. Amidst their highly publicized and messy divorce trial in 2016, Heard revealed that Depp had accused her of infidelity with some of her co-stars, including Hollywood heavyweights Leonardo DiCaprio and Channing Tatum. Here’s a glimpse into this intriguing revelation.

Amber Heard’s Accusations by Johnny Depp

During the contentious trial in which Johnny Depp was suing The Sun for defamation, Amber Heard took the stand to provide her testimony. She stated, “He accused me of having extramarital affairs with each of my co-stars, movie after movie: Eddie Redmayne, James Franco, Jim Sturgess, Kevin Costner, Liam Hemsworth, Billy Bob Thornton, Channing Tatum, even women co-stars like Kelli Garner.” She further recounted how Depp had accused her of an affair after she went on a date with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Heard also shared that Depp had derogatory nicknames for her male co-stars, whom he perceived as a sexual threat. She revealed, “He had insulting nicknames for each of my male co-stars who he believed posed a sexual threat, and he would taunt me about it, especially when he was intoxicated or high. Leonardo DiCaprio was a pumpkin-head, Jim Turd Sturgess was a potato-head.”

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s Turbulent Trial

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s tumultuous relationship led to a restraining order filed by Heard against Depp in 2016, followed by their highly publicized divorce. The couple initially met while filming “The Rum Diary” in 2011, and their relationship became the focus of public attention after Heard wrote an opinion piece for The Washington Post detailing her history of domestic abuse.

In a libel trial that unfolded in London, Justice Andrew Nicol ruled in favor of The Sun and News Group Newspapers Ltd., which had published claims labeling Johnny Depp as a “wife-beater.” Both Depp and Heard provided testimony during the trial. As a consequence of the court’s decision and his refusal to appeal, Depp lost his roles as Captain Jack Sparrow in Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” and Gellert Grindelwald in the “Fantastic Beasts” series.

Subsequently, Depp and Heard’s legal disputes continued to captivate global attention. A jury in Fairfax County, Virginia, found Depp falsely accusing Heard on one count through his former attorney, Adam Waldman, while Depp was falsely accused on all three counts. The jury initially awarded Depp $15 million in damages, which was later reduced to around $10 million, and Heard received a $2 million cash prize, which she contested. Finally, in December 2022, Heard and Depp reached an agreement, bringing a tumultuous chapter in their lives to a close.
