Disney CEO Bob Iger on Thursday officially announced that sequels to Frozen 2, Toy Story 4 and Zootopia are all in works.

“Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen, and Zootopia. we’ll have more to share about these productions soon. but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises,” Bob announced.

‘Zootopia(2016)’ and ‘Toy Story 4(2019)’ both had amazing runs at the box-office with each grossing over $1 billion. Both the films won the academy award for the Best Animated Feature. All about ‘Frozen 3’

The announcement of ‘Frozen 3’ does not come as a surprise at all, as the fans have been expecting Disney to announce the third instalment of the franchise, after Frozen 2’s massive box-office success

‘Frozen 2’ grossed over $1.4 billion at the worldwide box-office shattering numerous records. Including the first instalment’s collections, the franchise’s worth stands at a whopping $2.7 billion. The first movie of the franchise was released in 2013, which went on to win the Best Animated Feature at the 2014 Academy Awards. The film’s soundtrack, ‘Let It Go’ became a classic hit and is now a certified 8×platinum song.

Frozen 2 director Jennifer Lee talked about the threequel’s possibility in 2019. He back then said, “I know this sounds crazy, but I’m still hoping we did right by ‘Frozen 2’. I’m still in that overwhelming position of, our kids just went out to the world. Everything feels final, but also bittersweet. Time will tell if we have more story to tell, or if anyone even wants it. So, there you have it. [laughs] Right now, I feel very done.”

Forward to 2023, it’s pretty clear that Disney wants it. Hence, the fans are expecting another visual feast from the media company.
