Hannah Dodd Drops a Clue: Is Bridgerton Season 4 Already in Post-Production

Bridgerton Season 4: Is Filming Already Over

Fans of Bridgerton are eagerly waiting for updates about Season 4 of the popular Netflix period drama. While Netflix has yet to officially confirm it, new clues suggest filming might already be complete — and fans are buzzing with theories.

Thanks to some revealing interviews and career moves from the cast, many believe that Season 4 has quietly wrapped and is now moving into post-production.

Nicola Coughlan Says We’re Coming to the End

Nicola Coughlan, who plays the beloved character Penelope Featherington, recently dropped a major hint in a French interview.

In a conversation with Allociné, Coughlan reportedly said:

“Nous touchons à la fin,”
which roughly translates to
“We are coming to the end.”

This comment strongly suggests that production on Bridgerton Season 4 is either finished or very close to wrapping up.

Coughlan previously starred in Season 3’s central romance, paired with Luke Newton’s Colin Bridgerton, and her storyline may be transitioning to the background in Season 4 — giving more screen time to other characters.

Hannah Dodd’s New Role Confirms It Further

Another major clue comes from Hannah Dodd, who joined the cast in Season 3 as Francesca Bridgerton. The actress has now taken on a major role in a West End production of Cabaret, playing the lead role of Sally Bowles.

Why does this matter?

West End stage productions involve intensive rehearsal schedules and long-term commitments, making it nearly impossible to balance with ongoing TV filming.

The production of Cabaret started on May 29, so Dodd would have had to finish her Bridgerton work well in advance — providing further evidence that Season 4 filming has wrapped.

When Will Bridgerton Season 4 Release

Even though filming appears to be complete, don’t expect Season 4 to hit Netflix anytime soon.

The Bridgerton series is known for having a lengthy post-production phase, which can take more than a year. With Season 3 split into two parts (releasing in May and June 2024), Season 4 will likely debut in late 2025 at the earliest.

Still, the news of a possible filming wrap brings hope to fans — knowing the next chapter is well underway.

Who’s the Focus of Season 4? Meet Benedict and Sophie

While Season 3 focused on Penelope and Colin’s love story, the spotlight in Season 4 is expected to shift to the second Bridgerton brother — Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson.

According to reports, Benedict’s romantic interest will be Sophie Baek, portrayed by Yerin Ha.

Sophie Baek: A New Spin on a Classic Character

Sophie is based on the heroine from Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton book, An Offer from a Gentleman. But Netflix made a notable change — Sophie’s last name has been updated from “Beckett” to “Baek” to reflect actress Yerin Ha’s Korean heritage.

Ha recently shared her thoughts on the role in an interview with Tudum, saying:

“What drew me to Sophie is how she’s constantly facing obstacles — whether it’s social status or hiding her feelings from Benedict.”

Her character is described as resourceful, resilient, and mysterious, which makes her a perfect romantic match for the curious and artistic Benedict.

What to Expect in Season 4: Romance, Drama & Diversity

Fans can expect the upcoming season to be filled with:

  • A Cinderella-inspired love story
  • More focus on social class struggles
  • A modern and diverse representation of Regency romance

Season 4 also continues Bridgerton’s tradition of blending classic romantic tropes with fresh perspectives and inclusive storytelling.

Bridgerton’s Future Looks Bright

Although Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed the end of filming, all signs point to Season 4 being wrapped up — and the wait for the next love story is officially underway.

With a new lead couple, a multicultural twist, and the same lavish production quality, Bridgerton Season 4 is shaping up to be another smash hit.

Keep your eyes on Netflix for a potential teaser or release window later in 2025
