Hollywood actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow recently shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle’s rise as a lifestyle influencer, as well as her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. Gwyneth Paltrow on Meghan’s Influencer Aspirations
In her April 2025 Vanity Fair cover story, Paltrow addressed Meghan’s growing influence in the wellness space.
“Everybody deserves an attempt at everything they want to try,” Paltrow said, showing support for Markle’s ventures. The Iron Man actress emphasized her belief in uplifting other women rather than competing against them, a lesson she credits to her mother, veteran actress Blythe Danner.
“I think there’s always more than enough to go around,” she added. “My mother always told me not to look at another woman as competition—what is meant for you will come.”
Paltrow: ‘I Don’t Know Her’
Despite their proximity, Paltrow admitted she hardly knows Meghan Markle.
“I’m surprised, given how close they live. I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all,” Paltrow stated in the interview.
The Shakespeare in Love star also joked about possibly getting past Markle and Prince Harry’s security detail one day to deliver them a homemade pie.

Originally, Meghan Markle’s brand was set to launch as American Riviera Orchard, but legal complications led to a name change. According to Markle, the original name limited her brand’s potential.
In an Instagram post, she explained, “American Riviera Orchard felt too region-specific. But As Ever represents eternity—it’s about embracing timeless wellness and lifestyle choices.”
Will Meghan Markle’s Brand Rival Goop?
Many have drawn comparisons between Markle’s As Ever and Paltrow’s Goop, but it remains to be seen if Markle’s brand will reach the same level of success.
While Paltrow has been dominating the wellness industry for years, Meghan Markle’s name recognition and royal connection give her an edge. However, breaking into the highly competitive market will be no small feat.
