Geddy Lee & Alex Lifeson Reunite for Rush Tour in 2026
After years of silence and the tragic loss of drummer Neil Peart, founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have officially announced that Rush will return to touring in 2026. The upcoming run, dubbed the “Fifty Something” tour, is designed as a celebration of the band’s legacy and a tribute to Peart’s indelible impact.
This marks the first time Lee and Lifeson will perform under the Rush banner since their 2015 farewell tour, and their first full tour since Peart’s death in 2020.
What We Know About the 2026 Tour
The tour is slated to include seven U.S., Canadian, and Mexico dates, with a kickoff in Los Angeles in June. The final show is expected in Cleveland in September.
Given Peart’s absence, the tour will feature German drummer Anika Nilles behind the kit. While not a permanent replacement, she has been tapped for her ability to channel the spirit of Peart’s style while bringing her own energy.
To round out the live experience, Lee and Lifeson plan to bring in additional musicians. That setup should help them bring Rush’s layered sound to life in a concert setting.
Why This Reunion Matters
For longtime fans, this is more than a comeback: it’s an open acknowledgment that while Rush—with Peart—was irreplaceable, the music still has life and value. Lee has said that jamming again after years apart helped bring back the camaraderie that defined their journey.
In a way, the tour is symbolic: it honors the past while keeping Rush’s music active. It gives fans a chance to hear songs that may never again be played live in their original trio format.
