Main Cast

Undeniably, one factor that made My Happy Marriage so successful is the very excellent voice acting of the actors. The voice actors who brought Miyo, Kiyoka, and others to life effectively portrayed reality and emotions in the plot.

Reina Ueda: Voice of Miyo Saimori

The voice acting for Miyo Saimori, the main protagonist in the series, is done by Reina Ueda. One of the best-known voice artists in the anime world is Ueda, characterized by her immense depth and delicate voice acting. She portrays Miyo with the gentle yet heavy voice, showing her fragility, asceticism, and trauma she suffered from her cruel family. Thus, Ueda wins his reputation very skillfully by capturing the growth of Miyo as she changes from being a passive and broken individual to a stronger woman who learns to love herself better.

Reina Ueda has the experience of voicing a couple of popular anime series. Such titles include Re: Zero: Starting Life in Another World (where she voiced Crusch Karsten) and Demon Slayer (under the role Kanao Tsuyuri). Reina Ueda's very subtle and richly emotional presentation as Miyo adds layers upon layers to that.

Kaito Ishikawa as Kiyoka Kudou

Kaito Ishikawa voices Kiyoka Kudou, the enigmatic and seemingly cold fiancé of Miyo. Ishikawa is one of the most respected voice actors, devoting his talents to help animate the depth of male characters with a whole scale of emotions. In Kiyoka, he showcased both his rough-looking exterior and his sensitive side. However, as intimidatingly portrayed Kiyoka was initially set up to be, Ishikawa successfully portrayed the softer and more protective side of Kiyoka as the story progressed, showing the capacity for love and care.

Kaito Ishikawa lent his voice to popular anime characters such as Tobio Kageyama in Haikyuu!!, Genos in One Punch Man, and Tenya Iida in My Hero Academia. To this list should be added his voicing for Kiyoka Kudou in My Happy Marriage, giving him an increasing claim to being among the best voice actors around.

Ayane Sakura as Kaya Saimori

Ayane Sakura voices Kaya Saimori, the snobbish stepsister of Miyo, from a quite different end of this divided family, whose contrast between her humility and the privilege of rest of family members is embraced by her stepfather as his favorite. Kaya's superiority complex allows her to behave spitefully towards Miyo and treat her at every turn. Ayane Sakura's narration for Kaya is sharp and biting, capturing the essence of spiteful, manipulative tendencies, and coldness of her character.

Ayane Sakura has been popular because she voicing a number of female anime characters as strong, self-assured, or naughty female characters. She voices Ochako Uraraka in My Hero Academia, Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, and Natsumi Koshigaya in Non Non Biyori, among others. Her time as Kaya Saimori in My Happy Marriage is impressive, as she gives off the same character, which fans love to hate.

Hiro Shimono is the voice of Yoshito Godou, a trusted aide and friend to Kiyoka. Yoshito plays out a mediator role in the series, often times playing out comic relief aiding in the support for Kiyoka and Miyo's journey, making light and charming voice acting refreshing to add to what may otherwise seem overemotional events in the story.

Shimono is very popular with the characters Zenitsu Agatsuma from Demon Slayer, Connie Springer from Attack on Titan, and Dabi from My Hero Academia. Yoshito from My Happy Marriage adds such a whimsical, lovable depth to the storylines that make the show even more dramatic.
