Samir Guemriche has a true passion for understanding different people?s points of view. This has led him to pursuing a career in acting and along with a variety of unique roles in his portfolio.

Samir Guemriche, 27, is now gaining increasing notoriety in the film industry. After beginning his career in Algeria, he has now moved to UAE to chase his dreams of becoming successful. Moreover, he speaks about what motivates him to do this and why honesty is the best policy.

Hi Samir, what attracted you to beginning a career as an actor?

 ?There?s a long story behind this?

I am a man with good sense of humour! Recalling my story back when I was kid? I loved to play dead just to attract attention from everyone or I faked my sickness in front of my mother so that she doesn?t wake me up to go to school ( you will say everyone did this ). However, the difference was that everyone believed that I was so good on it that I used to end up sick haha!

And even with teachers, I have the talent to come up with new stories to justify my absence or why I got late.

When I grew up, I was fortunate enough to have close friend, a well-known actress, named ?Nawal Zad?. She was the person who had convinced and helped me to enter into the entertainment industry. Soon after that, I joined workshops next to my neighbourhood who used to teach photography & cinematography.

I remember the first day my mentor asked me what I want to become, and I said that I want to see myself on TV. My mentor smiled and said ?you will get whatever you want?. After 2 months, I ended up auditioning for different projects. And very soon after those auditions, I ended up doing my first TV commercial in 2017.

I still remember the feeling while I was in the studio, where I felt for the first time in my life that ?I don?t just exist, now I?m living the dreams?. I found my purpose in life, and this is how I started as an actor.?

How do you manage your personal and professional life?

?I moved to UAE about 2 years ago and I have been trying hard to establish myself here. So, I still do not have much time for a personal life here yet. However, I have always been doing something for my work. Haha. But sometimes, my friends take me to restaurants, beach or somewhere where I can refresh myself. I really appreciate the people I?ve met here in Dubai. They all take care of me very well mentally and physically. I really don?t feel alone because my friends and production team is there for me. But I know what I am actually here for. Hence, I would like to concentrate on my professional life until I get to the next level.?

Do you think honesty is the best policy?

?True, honesty is one of the biggest policies for me. I always try to be honest with what I do. Moreover, I have decided to live my own path and a lie just do not make me feel right.?

?Just be stubborn, and never listen to what anyone say! Don?t share your goals & dreams with small minded people, and do whatever makes you happy. Try to work on yourself, talent isn?t enough, anything worth doing takes time. And always smile no matter how the life treats you. If anything that has attracted him the most is the acting field, where Samir saw himself doing exceedingly well with the passion he felt for the same.

Samir Guemriche has worked in several major international productions as well and he was also a participant of the 2018 Mediterranean Film Festival.
