STORYLINE

– The head of the Axoe Zaibatsu, Takuzo Axoe, receives a notice from Kaito Kid about stealing two wakizashi swords belonging to Toshizo Hijikata from a zaibatsu warehouse in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Inspector Nakamori, chasing Kid, questions why he targets swords instead of jewels, while Heiji Hattori and Soshi Okita participate in a kendo tournament in Hakodate, with Conan, Ran Mori, and Kazuha Toyama supporting Heiji. At the tournament, Kazuha meets Sei Fukujo, a university student skilled in iaide performance. Meanwhile, Momiji Ooka, Kazuha’s romantic rival, arrives in Hokkaido to thwart Heiji’s confession plan to Kazuha, assuming he plans to confess his feelings.

– During the heist, Heiji discovers Kid’s disguise and engages in a rooftop fight, recovering one sword but failing to catch Kid. Shortly after, a man with a cross-shaped wound is found dead in the Hakodate warehouse district, identified as Sumito Kugaki, a legal advisor to the Akie Zaibatsu. Conan and Heiji suspect Kid’s involvement and learn about a hidden treasure linked to the Akie family. Brian D. Kadokura emerges as a suspect, aiming for the treasure. When Kid targets Kadokura’s sword, he is ambushed by a mysterious swordsman. Conan and Heiji intervene, defeating the swordsman, suspecting him of Kugaki’s murder. Kid reveals stealing the sword to uncover the Akie family’s treasure, leading them to Ryoe Fukujo’s house, unraveling the mystery further.
