We have witnessed mainstream cinema on the 70mm screen for quite a long time now. The actors and protagonists have shined bright with their larger than life persona. However, there has been a gradual shift as the world of web series, and web shows have opened doors for many actors. In the last three years, the digital space has flourished by leaps and bounds, and with the COVID-19 pandemic, content consumption has been at an all-time high.?

The digital transition has given many unexplored talents a platform to showcase their acting skills. Going with the flow and adapting to the new change, actor Manuj Tilakraj Gulati shares how digital media has become a part and parcel of the entertainment industry. Making his acting debut way back in 2003 with Cello ad, the actor has established himself as a noteworthy name in the industry today. However, he believes that a lot of things have changed during this time.

?Today social media has restructured many modules in the film and television industry. The rise of online streaming and pay-per-view models have increasingly given a hard time to the cinema halls all over the world?, says Manuj. Having a great reputation in the industry, the prolific actor has been a part of various music videos and TV commercials. Taking hiatus from acting in 2008, the actor simultaneously started working on his management and entrepreneurial skills.?

According to him, it is very significant for any actor to generate another source of income by setting up a business for the long run. Returning to the roots of acting, Mr Gulati had already set up MG Enterprise – a venture that majorly looks into digital media and film production. As an artist, Manuj has always been true to his craft. But he believes in welcoming diversity, and that?s what he did by upgrading his skills as an affluent entrepreneur. With the ever-growing demand for OTT platforms in today?s era, Gulati is all set to roar once again and live his dream.

Furthermore, he said, ?Digital media has given rise to great content. The audience has a variety of options when it comes to consuming content.? The actor aims to work on quality content and focus more on realistic roles as it resonates to the audience today. All in all, Manuj Gulati feels that digital is the new normal in the dynamic world today. Along with OTT actors, even the creators from social media have bright opportunities to showcase their skills over the web.

This digital transformation is more about flowing with the new capabilities that the creators have built within themselves. ?Back then, DVDs were a thing to rejoice for all the movie buffs, but now the key OTT players like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sony LIV and many more have conquered the market completely?, the actor added. And with a majority of big-budget films opting for a direct OTT release amidst the pandemic, the actor believes that digital space has already created a rage in the entertainment industry.
