HOW ARGENTINA’S FATIMA CAMACHO IS DISRUPTING HOLLYWOOD

Untitled design 7

Latin actress Fatima Camacho is Hollywood’s newest shining star. The Argentinian-born talent oozes star power and her uniqueness has Tinsel Town gleaming with joy. With numerous national commercials, and movies under her belt, Fatima is Hollywood’s latest leading lady.

Born and raised in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, Fatima has been a performer since an early age. When she was six years old her mother enrolled her into a musical theater academy, where she stayed for almost eight years. After graduating school, Fatima moved to Buenos Aires, and there she took acting classes along with directing classes. Roll forward four years, and Fatima graduates from the New York Film Academy. Now the Los Angeles-based actor juggles a hectic lifestyle of making movies.  We caught up with Fatima to chat about her latest passion projects and more!

It is clear you were born to be in front of the camera. Was this always your dream job?

Well, I grew up going to dance, ac ting and even singing classes. I always knew that I wanted to be a performer or an artist of some kind. As well as that, I have always loved film and I’ve always dreamed of being in front of the camera in movies.

Is there a specific genre of movie you like to work in?

I would absolutely love to work in an action movie, or something super theatrical like Tim Burton’s movies where everything is over the top.

Tell us about the movie Flesh Fresh – sounds gory!

It was! It is this satire short film that is supposed to make fun of over-the-top commercials but with a very twisted end. We had an amazing special effects make-up artist who was doing all the protests and they looked super real and scary. It was definitely a very fun shoot, and we all had so much fun. The script was also very funny, and we couldn’t stop laughing in between takes.

What character do you play?

I played the main girl, Jessica, who falls in love with a guy in the party where the short is set.

Which actors / directors would you like to collaborate with in future?

I would absolutely love to work with Tim Burton. I think his vision is absolutely unique and so different. I grew up watching his movies and being part of one of his projects would be a dream.

If you could play a role in a re-make, who would it be and why?

I would love to play Regina George in a remake of Mean Girls. But I think Rachel McAdams is the perfect Regina George!

Tell us something nobody knows about you? We promise to keep it a secret!

I am actually more introverted than people would think. Even though, I present myself like a very outgoing and social person, I always keep a lot of details about myself in private.

What’s up next for you?

As of now I am writing a web series that I would love to co-direct and act in. So, that is the main thing I’ve been working on.

Finally, how can people find and follow your journey?

I keep up to date with my latest projects on IMDbInstagram, and Facebook
