He currently leads E.Marinella, a brand of ties that offers bespoke tailoring services across the world. Founded in the year 1914 by Don Eugenio Marinella, E.Marinella is today an iconic brand that has taken Neapolitan fashion and style to every corner of the world.
We sat down for a brief interview with Alessandro Marinella and asked him questions about his passions, ideals and of course, the brand E.Marinella.
Who has been your biggest mentor in the fashion industry?
It has to be my father Maurizio Marinella. He has been a wonderful guide to me in terms of making me cultivate a mindset of innovation and in furthering my business acumen. As he is the backbone of E.Marinella, my father is also a huge inspiration to me. The rapid growth of the brand to an international market has all been his doing.
What makes E.Marinella different from other brands?
For starters, E.Marinella offers hand sewn ties. Even the printing is done by hand. We use material that is of the finest quality and the end result is a beautiful tie that is true to Neapolitan craftsmanship and tradition. E.Marinella brings a human touch to its products and that is probably why people literally relish the feeling of wearing our ties.
As a fashion entrepreneur, what is your biggest passion?
It is to bring a blend of style and tradition to the international fashion scene. I am very attached to Neapolitan culture and through E.Marinella and the platform that I have, I aim to take it forward and promote it as much as I can.
What would be your message to young people who are experimenting with styles and fashion?
I think I would tell them to prioritize comfort over anything else. Also, I believe whatever you wear should align with your personal ideas of style and not the current trends that continuously change.
