Clearly light-hearted: The talented singer songwriter Josia confuses. In his bluish-gray songs, he walks on the fragile border between sadness and hope, joy and melancholy, tenderness and brutality …
His modern and poetic texts mark the curious look he has on the world. Then beyond the text, there is his voice. This singular stamp freezes us and makes us want to know its history.
With a most atypical background, Josia was until recently only a student of dental surgery in Bretagne. Between periods of revisions and jam sessions in his room, the music lover eventually succumbs to the call of his passion and enters the French musical world with his very first EP entitled “LEMNA” marked by urban and Latin influences.
Born to a Nigerien father and a Breton mother, he was immersed in multiculturalism from an early age. Growing up in Guyana, he discovered through music a way to explore the local culture and the world around him with dancehall, R’n’B or French rap: figures of reference at that time. Josia listens to everything … Sade, Ismaël Lô, Charles Aznavour or even Diam’s and Oxmo Puccino. This music that rocked her childhood continues to influence her melodies today.
A talented musician, Josia plays the trumpet, guitar and drums. He composes and writes himself the titles of his EP in which he transcribes his daily life, his thoughts, his feelings.
