If you love watching couple content on YouTube, you might have heard of Dima and Netty. The YouTube duo consists of the Ukrainian influencer Dima Yavorskyy (@dimayavorskyy on Instagram) and his Filipino girlfriend Netty (@nettyyxo_) who share pranks, challenges, and vlogs on their channel for an audience of over 200,000 subscribers.

According to their BebTalk show on YouTube, the couple met long before beginning their journey together. They stepped into the world of social media in early 2020 when they started posting videos on TikTok. The two say they filmed comedy content for fun without realizing that their entertaining personalities would attract millions of viewers who turned into long-time supporters. Their natural chemistry eventually turned into an opportunity to grow their personal brand beyond short-form videos and led to them creating a YouTube channel.

For many internet couples, documenting their life online can limit the private aspect of the relationship. However, Dima and Netty’s content style is unique with the purpose to maximize viewer retention and entertain with fast-paced videos. More importantly, is how they are able to utilize their differences for content ideas. Dima comes from a Ukrainian background and speaks the language, while Netty is an American born of Filipino descent. Although the two communicate in English, their multilingual relationship has allowed them to make fulfilling videos in which they learn more about each other and explore new cultures and languages at the same time.

They first introduced a new series to their channel in June of 2020 when they posted a video titled Speaking Tagalog to My Boyfriend for 24 Hours. In the fourteen minute video, the social media star Netty only spoke in the Filipino language Tagalog and challenged Dima to complete the day she planned out for him. The video gained over 2.3 Million views, landing it on trending pages of YouTube. Although there were misunderstandings in the challenge, the duo’s love language spoke more than the barrier and allowed Dima to read between the lines.

After gaining massive popularity for their viral video, the couple attracted many Filipino fans who started following their journey and asking for part two of the series in which the roles would reverse. Of course, responding to their supporters’ feedback, they have recently released Speaking Ukrainian to My Girlfriend for 24 Hours, in which Dima spoke to Netty in his native language. The long-awaited video not only attracted Ukrainian speaking followers but viewers all over the world. By implementing English captions into the series, the videos were designed to be both informative and entertaining.

It is clear that making social media content has become a win-win lifestyle for Dima and Netty. On a platform with thousands of creators, the couple used their cultural differences for the greater good. However, their influence goes beyond YouTube. The two are making an impact on social apps including Instagram and TikTok reaching new audiences every day. Additionally, they have a merchandise line Bebwear with the purpose of spreading a message of love and happiness. It is clear that the couple is using their popularity for something more than views.
