In places such as Brazil, and many other places around the world, the legal system tends to favor the more well-off in society. Many will argue, however, that this does not mean true justice is being served. One person who argues this is budding young law student Joilson Melo.
Joilson Melo is a law student studying at Fasip College, a prestigious institution that is located in Mato Grasso, Brazil. Melo has grown up in Brazil and has a deep love for his country. Because of this, he is acutely aware of the inequalities that exist there. He believes that the significant wealth gap is partly responsible for the injustices that many Brazilian people face in a court of law.
There is a notable amount of evidence for corruption in many of Brazil’s notable institutions, including the legal system. Joilson Melo has already been instrumental in uncovering this corruption and fighting for change. One of his biggest achievements in his young career is his official filing of objection against the CNJ. The CNJ is the Brazilian national court of justice and Joilson Melo has been publicly scrutinising the miscarriages of justice that occur there.
Joilson Melo believes that there is no better way to show his love and appreciation for his country than helping the people who live there. The disparity between the rich and the poor means that some are able to take advantage of legal loopholes while others become wrongly entangled in the system. Joilson Melo’s ongoing mission is to expose these injustices and create a better system that treats everyone equally, regardless of their circumstances. This means that true justice is more likely to occur and the country will become better for it.
The first goal for Joilson Melo is to graduate from law school. He has already demonstrated his commitment and his success in fighting for those in need, meaning that he is sure to graduate with flying colors. He then hopes to continue fighting against injustice and corruption in the Brazilian legal system. He aims to do this through eventually opening his very own law firm where he can work tirelessly on this mission.
With Joilson Melo emerging as prominent and knowledgeable legal figures, gradual shifts towards justice in the Brazilian legal system are sure to occur.
