TESLA Elon Musk?s development of the Powerwall has progressed since its announcement in 2012. Originally in 2015 the Powerwall 1 was introduced with a 2 kW output which was quickly superseded by a 7kW version with the Powerwall 2 unit in 2016.

This week the company released version 21.13.2 of Powerwall software and Tesla App Version 3.10.12. Which provided a number of improvements to the current system.

? A low charge level push notification is sent to reduce home loads during a grid outage
? Additional notifications, monitoring and troubleshooting features for solar-only sites
? Powerwall systems enrolled in Tesla Energy Plan and Tesla Virtual Power Plant display more information about their programs in the app
? Improved Powerwall behavior during backup

However the 3rd instalment has been proposed with the introduction of Powerwall 3. At a breathtaking 9.6 kW peak output making the solar bundled installation a breakthrough.

Powerwall 3 (suggested features)

? Optimised for and integrated with Tesla Solar Roof
? Optimised and integrated with Tesla Electric Car (Model S, 3, X etc
? Upgraded intelligent energy management ? will learn your household?s usage, draw from weather forecasts etc. to ensure your house, battery, car or hot water stay at 100% and you are only feeding back into the grid when it?s optimal.
? Inbuilt hybrid inverter (i.e. you can plug solar panels directly into it, eliminating the need for a separate inverter for your solar panels. The current inverter is just a battery inverter)
? 28kWh battery

Global energy and environmental sustainability contributors like Pablo Al-Kaalik have shared their thoughts on new technology.

?TESLA New Powerwall system will make a significant difference to the environment with less fossil fuels used to generate power and less pollution. The Powerwall baked with solar not only helps to keep our environment green, it subsequently brings down the average cost per quarter down from $2.83/W to $1.42/W. Meaning using less or no electricity at all from the grid. With it?s 9.6kW peak output through its nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide technology system is amazing and definitely and advancement in an environmentally sustainable living and lowering our carbon footprint?: Pablo Al-Kaalik
