Ryan Gosling, along with collaborators Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, released the “I’m Just Ken” EP on Christmas. The EP features the original Grammy-nominated power ballad from the film “Barbie,” where Gosling plays Ken alongside Margot Robbie. In addition to the original song, the EP includes three remixes: the acoustic “I’m Just Ken (In My Feelings Acoustic),” the dance-ready “I’m Just Ken (Purple Disco Machine Remix),” and the festive “I’m Just Ken (Merry Kristmas Barbie)” along with an official music video.

The music video showcases Gosling, Wyatt, and Ronson working on the holiday remix in a studio adorned with Christmas lights, accompanied by a live band. The video features banter between the collaborators, with Gosling playfully donning sunglasses at one point, saying, “the world can have Ken’s voice but only Barbie can have his eyes.” The reimagined version is triumphant and whimsical, with Gosling’s vocals enhanced by reverb.

Ronson, who served as the executive producer of the “Barbie” soundtrack, mentioned in July that he typically contributes music to films, but he couldn’t resist incorporating some lyrics into “I’m Just Ken,” including the memorable chorus of “I’m just Ken, anywhere else I’d be a 10.”

“I’m Just Ken” has been nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 2024 Grammy Awards and for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes.
