Ozzy Osbourne Slams Kanye West for Unauthorized Sampling, Citing Antisemitism

Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary heavy metal artist, has publicly criticized Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, for sampling one of his performances without permission, citing Ye’s history of antisemitic comments.

During Ye’s listening party in Chicago for his album “Vultures” with Ty Dolla Sign, one track featured a sample of Osbourne’s solo performance of the Black Sabbath song “War Pigs” from the 1983 US Festival. Osbourne took to Twitter in an angry all-caps post, stating that he had never given permission for Ye to use his recording and refused to do so, condemning Ye as an antisemite who has caused harm to many.

Ye has faced backlash for making antisemitic remarks since 2022, prompting Osbourne to disassociate himself from the rapper. Osbourne emphasized his stance, declaring that he wanted no association with Ye due to his offensive comments.

This public rebuke from Osbourne comes shortly after comedian Bill Maher announced he would not release a two-hour interview with Ye, citing similar concerns about providing a platform to someone he views as an antisemite.

The controversy underscores the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Ye’s behavior and remarks, with notable figures like Osbourne and Maher taking a stand against what they perceive as hateful rhetoric.
