In a shocking turn of events during his “Final Lap” tour stop at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on August 30, 50 Cent found himself in hot water after a heated confrontation with a concert-goer led to an airborne microphone striking a member of the audience.

Videos capturing the incident began circulating shortly after the concert’s conclusion, leaving fans and onlookers stunned. The footage revealed a visibly frustrated 50 Cent, whose anger was seemingly fueled by malfunctioning microphones during his performance. In a fit of irritation, the rapper hurled his microphone not just once, but twice, into the crowd.

It was reported that the first microphone was tossed with relatively little force, but when the second microphone failed to meet his expectations, 50 Cent unleashed it into the audience with amplified energy. This sudden and reckless action set off a chain of events that has left the rapper facing potential legal repercussions.

Adding to the intrigue of the incident, the “Final Lap” tour featured special guest YG, who was performing on stage at the time when 50 Cent’s microphone made contact with an unsuspecting audience member. Speculation quickly arose that the injured party was Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain, as images depicting a bloodied Monegain with an open wound on her forehead began circulating online.

Variety reached out to Monegain for comment, but at the time of reporting, she had not responded. However, Scott Leemon, an attorney representing 50 Cent, issued a statement asserting the rapper‘s innocence: “Let’s be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone. Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.”

Despite Leemon’s declaration, the Los Angeles Police Department was unable to confirm whether a police report had been filed in connection with the incident. It was confirmed, however, that no report had been filed at Crypto.com Arena regarding the microphone incident.

This incident bears a resemblance to a previous incident involving Cardi B, who also tossed a microphone into the crowd during a performance. In that case, Cardi B was retaliating against a fan who had thrown a drink at her on stage, inadvertently hitting another person nearby. The injured party filed a police report the following day, but Cardi B was eventually cleared of any potential battery charges.

In a strange twist of fate, these recent microphone incidents mark a reversal of roles, with concert-goers targeting artists on stage. Earlier this summer, Bebe Rexha narrowly avoided injury when a fan threw a cell phone at her head in New York, Harry Styles was struck by an unidentified object in Vienna, and Latto responded to a similar incident in Germany by warning the perpetrator with the words, “Want your ass beat?”

As the fallout from 50 Cent’s microphone toss continues to unfold, fans and legal experts alike will be watching closely to see how this unexpected chapter in the “Final Lap” tour saga resolves itself.
