Story
Chaos results from the accidental death of the goddess Bai Ze, who is the protector of both humans and demons, during the turbulent Zhenyuan era. Demon beasts go berserk and terrorize the human world with gory murders while the Bai Ze Order is absent. The head of all demons, “Zhu Yan,” takes on the persona of Zhao Yuanzhou (Hou Minghao) and offers to help the imperial court set up a demon-hunting bureau. Skeptical Wen Xiao (Chen Duling), along with her childhood friend Zhuo Yichen (Tian Jiarui), a skilled detective and swordsman, join forces with the stoic archer Pei Sijing (Cheng Xiao) and timid doctor Bai Jiu (Lin Ziye). Together, they form a demon-hunting team tasked with solving cases from “The Classic of Mountains and Seas.” As they delve deeper, they uncover dark truths behind the demon beasts’ actions. Amidst loss and responsibility, can their unbreakable bonds and the love between a top demon and the goddess prevail?
Plot
The historical fantasy drama “Fangs of Fortune,” which is set in the Zhenyuan era, was inspired by “The Classic of Mountains and Seas.” The narrative centers on a world under the goddess Bai Ze, where humans and demons coexist. However, chaos ensues when the goddess dies unexpectedly, and the Bai Ze Order, which maintained balance, goes missing. Demon beasts start causing havoc and bloodshed in the human realm.
Amidst this turmoil, Zhao Yuanzhou (played by Hou Minghao), the leader of all demons who disguises himself as Zhao Yuanzhou, proposes a daring plan. He offers to help the imperial court establish a demon-hunting bureau to bring order back to the realm. Suspicious of Zhao Yuanzhou’s true intentions, Wen Xiao (played by Chen Duling), a determined investigator, joins the bureau. She is accompanied by Zhuo Yichen (played by Tian Jiarui), her childhood friend and a skilled swordsman and detective.
The group grows to include Bai Jiu (played by Lin Ziye), a gifted but bashful doctor, and Pei Sijing (played by Cheng Xiao), a skilled archer with a shadowy past. Together, they form an unlikely alliance tasked with confronting the demon beasts described in ancient lore. As they delve deeper into their missions, they uncover dark secrets behind the chaos, testing their bonds of friendship and love.
