Joker 2: Lady Gaga joins Joaquin Phoenix for the upcoming sequel

DC released newest Joker 2 teaser on Thursday, and Gaga formally announced that she would be appearing in the movie. After impressing the industry with her outstanding performance in the House of Gucci, Variety had reported that Gaga was a candidate for the part of Harley Quinn in the movie.

There have been rumours circulating for months that Lady Gaga was considering playing Harley Quinn in the upcoming Joker sequel. It will undoubtedly be a musical. Joaquin Phoenix, who won the Oscar for best actor for his work in the 2019 opening film, will be reprising his role as the Joker, it is revealed in the new teaser.

Along with the shocking casting news, the movie’s title, “Joker: Folie à Deux,” was also made public. As the Joker, Joaquin Phoenix will return to the franchise after winning the Best Actor Oscar for his stunning performance in the 2019 instalment. Cheek to Cheek by Louis Armstrong, which Gaga has previously performed with jazz great Tony Bennet, serves as the soundtrack for the movie’s teaser. According to sources, the future movie will be a musical, therefore Gaga’s choice for the part seems ideal.

As the numbers flew by in the animated clip, the teaser also announced the movie’s release date. The movie will premiere on October 4, 2024. Although Gaga’s involvement in the franchise has been confirmed, it is still unknown if she will play Harley Quinn in the eagerly anticipated follow-up.
