The legendary Dolly Parton is set to rock the music world once again with her latest release. The 77-year-old icon recently dropped a cover of Queen’s iconic anthem “We Are the Champions” from her upcoming album “Rockstar.”

On the guitar-driven track, Parton exudes the same energy and passion that the late Freddie Mercury once did. She flawlessly belts out the powerful lyrics of “We Are the Champions” before making a smooth transition to an interpolation of “We Will Rock You,” complete with the iconic beat and crowd-chanting, in the last minute of the song.

“We Are the Champions” marks the fourth release from Parton’s highly-anticipated album “Rockstar,” scheduled for release on November 17. The album boasts an impressive 30 songs, comprising nine original tracks and 20 covers of iconic hits.

Expressing her excitement about the album, Parton shared in a press release in May, “I’m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album Rockstar! I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time, and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure.”

Parton further added, “I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!”

“Rockstar” features remarkable collaborations with legendary artists like Miley Cyrus, Sheryl Crow, Lizzo, Elton John, Chris Stapleton, Stevie Nicks, Sting, John Fogerty, and many more. Parton previously released “Bygones,” “Magic Man,” and “World on Fire,” with the latter serving as the lead track.

During a January episode of The View, the country icon shed light on her motivation behind creating a rock album. She stated, “If I’m going to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, I better do something to earn it. So I’m doing a rock ‘n’ roll album and I’m having a lot of the rock stars that I met that night be on the album with me.”

Parton’s decision to embark on a rock album project was also fueled by her husband of nearly 57 years, Carl Thomas Dean, who is an avid rock music fan. The album is a special gift for him, featuring his favorite songs. Dolly Parton was inducted into the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022.

“I’m doing the rock ‘n’ roll album because of him,” she expressed. “I had often thought about doing a rock ‘n’ roll album for him with his favorite songs. And so when this all came about, I decided that I am gonna go ahead and do it… It was just the perfect storm. OK, it’s time.”

Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of “Rockstar” and can’t wait to hear Dolly Parton’s distinctive voice and charm add her unique touch to classic rock hits. With her immeasurable talent and the star-studded collaborations on the album, “Rockstar” is expected to be another unforgettable musical masterpiece from the country music icon.
