A 2021 email that Angelina Jolie sent to her ex-husband Brad Pitt has now reappeared online and gone viral on TikTok as the messy legal dispute between Jolie and Pitt continues. The email’s contents were revealed in a court filing. In the devastating communication, Angelina expressed her desire to leave their French winemaking company.
The viral email was issued in January 2021, but Angelina didn’t sell her vineyard interests until 2022, at which point Pitt sued her because the sale gave rise to a lawsuit that was filed this summer. In the email, Jolie explained why she had made the choice to sell her share of the Chateau Miraval Winery, which she and Brad jointly own.
The Eternals actress breaks down in tears as she recounts bringing their twins Knox and Vivienne to the Chateau Miraval and discusses how the location has a particular place in her heart, according to Just Jared. She wrote, “It is the place we brought the twins (Knox and Vivienne) home to, and where we were married over a plaque in my mother’s memory. A place that held the promise of what could be and where I thought I would grow old. Even now impossible to write this without crying. I will treasure my memories of what it was a decade ago.”
Jolie also addressed Pitt’s alcoholism in the email, calling their winery brand “a company focused around booze” and claiming that this led to the beginning of their family’s demise. Furthermore, she says that Brad would be happy to get the email and that he probably wanted her to go. The actress further asserts in the email that decisions were made without consulting her and money was spent in a way she would never approve of in their business. She continues by saying that, “sge can’t be associated, publicly or privately, in an alcohol-based business, since drunken behaviour so severely damaged our family.”
Following the disclosure of the actress’ abuse charges against Pitt, which were outlined in her most recent court file, the email Jolie sent to Pitt has since gone viral. In the court docs, Angelina claimed that during their 2016 flight to Los Angeles on a private plane, Brad allegedly choked one of their children and struck another during an argument.
