‘The Midnight Club’ Episode 7 Recap

club 2

Anya (Ruth Codd), no longer employed at Brightcliffe, scans objects at the beginning of The Midnight Club Episode 7. Every day after work, she passes by the same shops, among them a dance school, which she frequently admires wistfully. She takes her prosthetic limb off before going to bed and watches TV alone at home. Her employer questions her about her objectives and plans for the following day at work. Her supervisor looks pleasant, but she is also so upbeat that it’s a little unsettling. After work, she attends a support group and discusses how her cancer spontaneously regressed following the Midnight Club ritual.

She phones her old buddy Rhett when she gets home to apologize. Unfortunately, his lack of interest in her apologies leaves Anya feeling discouraged as she heads to bed. Voices start arriving from her alarm clock around midnight. It sounds like the Midnight Club’s toast, even when Anya swiftly turns it off, so something isn’t right.

In the support group, Anya retells a portion of her experience and explains to everyone that the ritual only worked for her. After that, they gave it a lot more tries, but it didn’t work on anybody else. Since everyone passed away in the past year, Anya is again ashamed to be the lone survivor. When Anya returns to the grocery shop, a bloody hammer resembling the one Dusty used in Kevin’s (Igby Rigney) story appears on her conveyor belt. Things start to become quite odd at this point. Blood is all over the lady who placed it there, and she resembles Dusty’s mother in all except her name.

'The Midnight Club' Episode 7 Recap 3

Anya stops by the video game shop on her way home and is ecstatic to see Amesh (Sauriyan Sapkota) there and healthy. Sadly though, this isn’t Amesh. Luke, a character from Amesh’s narrative, is the one who has no idea who Anya is. The characters from her friends’ stories that look precisely like them then start to arrive, and Anya starts to see them. Once more, it is midnight, and her alarm clock automatically turns on the radio. The voice of Ilonka (Iman Benson) is audible this time. Anya stops it from turning off automatically and waits to hear her message.

Everyone, according to Ilonka, has gathered in the corridor adjacent to her recovery room and is conversing with her over the intercom. They were discovered by Dr. Stanton (Heather Langenkamp) in the hidden cellar, and she is enraged with them. Even though The Midnight Club is now prohibited from using the library, Mark (Zach Gilford) gave them permission to visit and speak with her. Natsuki, whose health has worsened since the rite, is consoled by Anya (Aya Furukawa). Her experience in this world is only a dream.

The following day, before going to meet Dr. Stanton, Ilonka passes through her vacant room. Anya had given Ilonka the rest of her possessions and money before she passed away. Although this shocks Ilonka, she is more concerned about the punishment Dr. Stanton has in store for her and the other members of the Midnight Club. Dr. Stanton is still unsure about that, but she does inquire about Ilonka’s whereabouts of the book containing the hourglass. Sincere and telling her straight up that it was in the library with the other books. It wasn’t concealed; it was just filed away with the other documents.

'The Midnight Club' Episode 7 Recap 4

Ilonka recommends they hold a funeral for Anya before going back to bed. Anya deserves a decent sendoff, and they are already in problems with Dr. Stanton. While Cheri (Adia) performs “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day on her cello, they head to the beach to spread her ashes. The Midnight Club assembles to complete the song with Cheri, singing in honor of their buddy Anya after her ashes have been dispersed. Ilonka waits for her feet to get numb while she stands in the water and stares into the darkness. Kevin remains to console her. Ilonka attempts to kiss him, but he resists. Ilonka retreats toward Brightcliffe, embarrassed and dejected.

In the hallway of Brightcliffe, Dr. Stanton hangs a photo of Anya to join the other prior residents of the home before burning Athena’s diary. Ilonka nearly runs into Dr. Stanton as she makes her way to her office, but happily, she escapes. Ilonka overhears Dr. Stanton talking on the phone and learns that one of the teenagers could be leaving because they are no longer ill. Ilonka stumbles noisily in the corridor as she makes a not-so-stealthy getaway for her room, narrowly avoiding detection once more. Ilonka arrives in her room just in time to run into the unsettling elderly woman once more. She follows Ilonka to the bathroom this time because she is “hungry,” where she locks herself in.
