Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, a recent Netflix television series, has recently passed Stranger Things 4 to take second place among all English-language Netflix series in terms of initial viewership. Variety reports that 701.37 million hours have been spent watching the September 21 debut of Dahmer. Contrarily, 1.35 billion hours of Stranger Things 4 were seen in its first 28 days. The most watched English-language series on the streaming service, however, is merely Stranger Things 4. With more than 1.65 billion hours watched in its first 28 days, the South Korean popular series Squid Game continues to hold the top rank overall.

The Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan-created series tells the story of Dahmer’s murders between 1978 and 1991 mostly from the viewpoint of Dahmer’s victims. The series, which is based on true events, “will also critically examine systemic racism, white privilege, homophobia, and the institutional failures that permitted Dahmer to murder and dismember 17 boys and men”.

In the ten-part series, Evan Peters portrays a serial killer. Along with Richard Jenkins, Molly Ringwald, and Michael Learned, Niecy Nash also appears in the show. Murphy and Ian Brennan both contributed to the creation of Dahmer. Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Evan Peters, Janet Mock, and Carl Franklin are among the producers.

Unheard interviews between Dahmer and his legal staff are shown in the three-part series. Joe Berlinger, an accomplished filmmaker and Oscar nominee who has produced numerous films about true crime and societal issues, created the series. The West Memphis Three, who served 18 years in prison for murder before being released, were made well known thanks in large part to Berlinger’s Paradise Lost trilogy. The Conversations with a Killer trilogy by Berlinger includes this movie as volume three.
