Dune: Part Two will be released in theatres two weeks early in November 2023

Dune 10 Oscar Nominations

The sequel to Dune arrived a bit early.

After Disney delayed the release of Marvel Studios’ Blade, Warner Bros. announced that Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two will now be released on Blade’s original date of November 3, 2023, rather than Nov. 17, 2023.

The Dune sequel, produced by Legendary Pictures in collaboration with Warner Bros., will feature Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, and Javier Bardem. The producers are Tanya LaPointe, Villeneuve, Cale Boyter, and Mary Parent.

The sequel focuses on the second half of Frank Herbert’s iconic 1965 novel Dune, with Paul Atreides (Chalamet) joining forces with the Fremen to liberate the desert world of Arrakis from House Harkonnen.

Emperor Shaddam IV (Walken), the monarch who banished the Atreides family to Dune; the emperor’s daughter, Princess Irulan (Pugh); and Feyd-Rautha (Butler), the nephew of the baron, played by Stellan Skarsgard in the first part, are among the new characters.

The first Dune did well at the box office, especially since it was released in cinemas and on HBO Max on the same day in October 2021. The science-fiction film made more than $400 million worldwide and won six Academy Awards.
