Real-life action icon Tom Cruise might be sent to the International Space Station after performing every conceivable risky feat on Earth. No, but we didn’t anticipate him to turn his attention to space next. The chairman of Universal Pictures, Donna Langley, is reportedly eying Paramount’s throne for the highest grossing motion pictures, with the hopeful purpose of having Cruise mingle with the stars.

Tom Cruise would be launched into orbit before coming down from the rocket, according to the British film executive. For the movie, all of this would be documented on camera. It would be just one of the many incredible feats the “Top Gun” star has accomplished for the big screen, like learning to fly a plane, rappelling down the world’s tallest building, and scaling cliffs.

Donna explained to the BBC, “We have a great project in development with Tom that does contemplate him taking a rocket to the Space Station. And hopefully he will become the first civilian to do a space walk outside of the International Space Station.” She added, “He will play a down-on-his-luck guy who finds himself in the position of being the only person who could save Earth.”

The movie is currently in the conceptual stage and hasn’t started shooting yet. Tom Cruise would be the first movie celebrity to film on the International Space Station if the film is successful, as was previously announced. It should be noted that Cruise had some prior ISS experience because he narrated the 2022 documentary Space Station 3D from Earth. It is not surprising that the actor, who is also known for his daring acts, is now aiming for space.
