Elon Musk, the possible new owner of Twitter, has talked with Kanye “Ye” West over a tweet published on Saturday by the rapper-turned-fashion magnate that has been widely denounced as antisemitic.

“Talked to ye today & explained my concerns about his previous remark, which I hope he took to heart,” Musk tweeted.

West posted in a tweet Saturday night, “I’m a bit drowsy now but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.” “The strange thing is that I can’t be anti-Semitic because black people are truly Jews, and you’ve played with me by blackballing everybody who opposes your plan.”

Twitter removed the tweet an hour after it was posted because it violated its terms of service.

West only returned to Twitter on Friday, following an extended vacation and limitations put on his Instagram account. Meta verified to The Hollywood Reporter that West’s account was disabled after he tweeted a conversation supposedly between him and rapper Diddy that contained antisemitic words.

“I didn’t enjoy our discussion,” West stated in response to Diddy’s criticism of West’s infamous “White Lives Matter” shirts. These shirts are for sale. Nobody can stand in the way of my money.”

When Diddy requested him to cease selling the shirts, West said, “I’m going to use you as an example to teach the Jewish people who told you to contact me so that nobody can frighten or sway me.”

The Instagram post was later removed.

On his comeback to Twitter on Friday, West addressed Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, saying, “How are you going to ban me off Instagram?” Elon Musk, who recently revealed his desire to purchase Twitter, quickly welcomed him back. “Welcome back to Twitter, my buddy,” Musk said in response to West’s statement against Zuckerberg.
