Killer Sally, a documentary by Nanette Burstein, will be released on Netflix in November 2022

Killer Sally

The Netflix schedule for November is gradually taking shape. Among the new films this month is a real crime documentary series about Sally McNeil, which will be released on November 3rd. Here’s what you should know. The plot revolves around convicted bodybuilder Sally McNeil, who is married to fellow bodybuilder Ray McNeil. She shotgunned her husband to death on Valentine’s Day in 1995, earning her a 19-year jail sentence. Throughout the new docu-series, you’ll hear from friends, relatives, and individuals engaged in the defence and prosecution of the case. Sally McNeil herself will be interviewed extensively for the docu-series.

According to the trailer, which is available on the show’s Netflix page, the docu-series will attempt to frame the reasoning behind the crime and bring viewers up to date on the case, which purportedly saw Sally McNeil given parole this year. If you want to learn more about the case before seeing the documentary, MuscularDevelopment.com offers a great overview.
Nanette Burstein is the president of Firehouse Films and the creator of the Netflix documentary series. Burstein’s most well-known series was the Hulu limited docuseries Hillary (launched in 2020), for which she directed and executive produced all four episodes.

Killer Sally will be screened with a number of true crime films and docuseries. Conversations with a Killer (which recently aired a Jeffrey Dahmer limited series), Making a Murderer, Tiger King, Dirty Money, and I AM A KILLER are some of Netflix’s best hits in the genre. It’s part of a massive wave of films for streamers during a gold rush.
