Wolf Pack, based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, follows the lives of two teens, Everett (Armani Jackson) and Blake (Bella Shepard), as they are irrevocably altered in the wake of a frightening beast being awakened by a California wildfire. The teenagers are hurt during the attack and discover an eerie attraction to each other and to two fraternal twins who also went through a similar situation.

Paramount Plus unveiled a teaser trailer for Wolf Pack along with its panel at the 2022 New York Comic-Con. Gellar’s performance as Ramsey is highlighted in the trailer for the show, which premieres on January 26, 2023. Along with introducing Blake and Everett, it extensively plays up the horror potential of the premise. There are persistent gnarly scars, wolf tracks that appear to be everywhere, and there may even be a monster with two heads.

Wolf Pack executive producer Gellar has stated that she has no plans to return to the supernatural horror subgenre. She said there are just too many pitches going in that direction. Wolf Pack’s resemblance to Buffy and its approach to issues facing modern high school students eventually won her over. Buffy popularised this strategy by employing monsters and demons as metaphors for high school and later adulthood. Teen Wolf, which was similar to Buffy in several ways, continued in that direction.

Wolf Pack is not a Teen Wolf spinoff, despite being produced by Teen Wolf executive producer Jeff Davis and dealing with some of the same supernatural elements. Since it takes place in a distinct reality, the programme is free to develop its own mythology and set of regulations. Kristin Ramsey will be portrayed by Gellar, who played the title character in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and contributed to the definition of the genre television. Rodrigo Santoro, Chloe Rose Robertson, and Tyler Lawrence Gray will all be joining her in the cast.
