Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine for Deadpool 3 has been confirmed by Ryan Reynolds, and the previous several months have been jam-packed with MCU news. Reynolds and Jackman will work together in the much-anticipated sequel for the first time since the disastrous X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Although the movie won’t be available until 2024, the most recent issue of Production Weekly says that production will begin soon.
In a recent issue of Production Weekly, Deadpool 3 was mentioned, according to X-Men Updates on Twitter. The news of the Daredevil revival, which Marvel would ultimately confirm at San Diego Comic-Con a few months later, was also originally reported by Production Weekly.
In light of this, we are inclined to think that Production Weekly is speaking from experience. The schedule is subject to change, but if Marvel can begin filming in January, we should learn more about the movie shortly.
The only things we currently know about Deadpool 3 are that Wolverine will be there and that Logan won’t be retconned. Although it is unclear how Marvel intends to incorporate the Deadpool series into the larger MCU, considering that the movie will be a part of the Multiverse Saga, it is quite likely that some multiversal hijinks will be involved to bring all of these characters together.
We also know that Marvel Studios has struggled in previous years to keep secrets under wraps. Therefore, the earlier production begins, the earlier we may begin searching the internet for spoilers before the film’s release.
Marvel is now finishing Phase 4 strongly. Werewolf by Night surpassed our expectations, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Marvel sequels ever. She-Hulk just brought Daredevil into the MCU.
The release day for Deadpool 3 is set for September 6, 2024.
