The aftermath of the volcanic explosion causes turbulence in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Ep 7, with the main protagonists dispersed everywhere. Muriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) loses her sight while Theo (Tyrone Muhafidin) and Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) go through the ruins to reunite with the survivors, and Elendil (Lloyd) laments the death of his son Isildur (Maxim Baldry). Beret, Isildur’s horse, meanwhile, continues to think that his master is still alive and pursues him. As the Queen Regent assures Galadriel that they will return to destroy the invaders, Muriel, Elendil, and other Nmenóreans depart for Nmenór. A Kingly departure is given to Halbrand (Charlie Vicker) by the Southlanders and the Nmenóreans stationed behind before Galadriel and he rides out to Eregion to treat Halbrand’s serious injuries. Theo rejoins his parents, Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi) and Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova) when Galadriel (who gives him her sword) recognizes him as a soldier.

In another scene, Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and Durin IV (Owain Arthur) argue about who should help Elrond (Peter Mullan) use the Dwarvish mithril to save the Elves from extinction. The King is begged by Elrond to help him, but he declines, so Durin III sneaks into the mines and finds riches. Durin III does this after seeing that the Mithril returned by Elrond magically nourished a decaying leaf. Durin III, however, exiles the companions. Wife Disa’s (Sophia Nomvete) uplifting comments that the mithril belongs to the pair and that he is meant to be King boost a dejected Durin III.

The Stranger (Daniel Weyman), who tries but fails to utilize his powers to replenish the trees, welcomes the Harfoots to desolate areas with burnt food. Sadoc Burrows (Lenny Henry), who gives The Stranger a map of the “stars” he’s looking for, assists him. The countryside is back to its flourishing self thanks to The Stranger and the Harfoots load up on food in their carriages as a thank you to Nori (Markella Kavenagh) for aiding him. The Sauron henchwomen, however, set the carriages on fire. After giving her a sincere pep talk, Nori (Megan Richards), her mother Marigold (Sara Zwangobani), Sadoc, and her father Largo (Dylan Smith) follow her on her journey to save The Stranger.

When Durin III inserts the nourished leaf within the Mithril, Balrog at last appears. A victorious Adar (Joseph Mawle) and his offspring celebrate over the ruined Southlands as the new Lord claims them as Mordor. A notable scene in the episode is when Galadriel informs Theo that she also lost her husband Celeborn, who is well-known to fans of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, in addition to her brother. The developing passion between Galadriel and Halbrand has aroused the curiosity of fans of The Rings of Power.

Finally, by brilliantly setting up an epic ending, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Episode 7 brings the narrative to a satisfying finish.
