Andrew Scott and Joe Alwyn have had diverse filmographies to date. Whether it’s Sherlock’s stalking or Fleabag’s serenade, Andrew has it all and, like Joe, he’s had memorable roles in biopics, fantasy his thrillers, and more. Now the pair are transported to medieval England in their upcoming coming-of-age drama, Catherine Cold Birdie.

 Based on the 1994 Karen Cushman Young Her Adult novel of the same name, Katherine Her Cold Her Birdy is her 13th century through the eyes of the film’s 14-year-old protagonist, Mrs. Katherine aka Birdy (played by Vera Ramsey). explore the world of Andrew plays Lord Rollo, Birdie’s father. She sees him as the dominant character, but he says the character has more to him. “Bardy sees him as the dominant father, and to some extent he is, but he is trying to find a good husband for his daughter to help the family survive. He’s in control, but at the same time has a certain notion of dignity and taking care of his family,” says the actor.

Directed by Lena Dunham, Catherine Cold Birdy features guest stars Russell Brand and Ralph Ineson, along with Billie Piper, Dean-Charles Chapman and Isis Haynesworth. After a limited release on September 23rd, the film will be released on Prime Video on October 7th.
