Finally, a release date for Deadpool 3 has been set, and Marvel fans can look forward to something even more thrilling.
Late in September 2022, Ryan Reynolds dropped the unexpected revelation that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the threequel. Not only will it be Wolverine’s MCU debut, but it will also be Jackman’s comeback following what was ostensibly his final role in Logan.
The threequel was once reported to have writers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin from Bob’s Burgers. However, it now appears that the writers of the first and second films, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, are also writing the third film.
When will the third Deadpool movie be released?
It has been revealed that Deadpool 3 will hit theatres on September 6, 2024.
In MCU semantics, this either designates the third instalment as the conclusion of Phase 5 or the start of Phase 6. The latter is more feasible because Marvel did established a release date for an unnamed movie or TV programme in Phase 6 for the fall of 2024.
Even though we now know the film’s launch date, we are still not sure when it will begin production. However, we may presume that it will begin in 2023 to guarantee that September 2024 will be the film’s release date. However, there is always a chance of delays.
Cast of Deadpool 3: Who will appear in Deadpool 3?
Ryan Reynolds was always going to return as Wade Wilson, or Deadpool, and now that we know he has some serious company, it makes sense.
As Wolverine, Hugh Jackman will debut in the MCU. Although the specific canonical workings are yet unknown, we anticipate there will be some multiversal antics.
Reynolds technically already appeared in an MCU advertisement alongside the character Korg from Thor: Ragnarok, and he also made an appearance on the Avengers Campus ride Avengers Assemble: Flight Force.
With the X-Force squad, introduced in Deadpool 2, we met a variety of new heroes as well. Although some didn’t live long enough, we could see characters like Cable (Josh Brolin) and Domino (Zazie Beetz) return.
Beetz isn’t so confident she’ll return, though, having stated in March 2021 that she hadn’t heard anything about a job and still hadn’t as of March 2022 (a full year later).
In August 2022, Beetz appeared to have altered her mind and hinted at a comeback: “I suppose I really can’t say anything, but I feel fortunate. We’ll simply have to wait and see since I really can’t reveal or say anything.”
If we see the X-Force again, maybe with Peter (Rob Delaney) along for the ride, Colossus (Stefan Kapii), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), and Russell (Julian Dennison) will likely complete the crew.
Although it’s unlikely that characters like Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgrd) and Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) will appear in Deadpool 3, superheroes frequently outlive their mortal enemies in comic books, so it’s never a guarantee.
