Fans of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+ have picked up on nuance in a recent episode that they think reveals the Abomination’s true motivations.

When Jen Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) visited Emil Blonsky’s (Tim Roth) healing center in She-Hulk Episode 7, “The Retreat,” u/FlashRx noticed a little but potentially crucial feature in the backdrop. The user stated, “Blonsky’s act is just that…still he’s most definitely a villain.” The pattern of the beads in his group session room resembles that of a coral snake, a very deadly serpent, suggesting that he does indeed have sinister intents.

Fans have long thought that Abomination is not as repentant as he would have Jen Walters and the parole board think. In a recent interview, Roth said that his flexibility to improvise and deviate from the script while filming the series added to the intrigue around whether Emil had indeed changed for the better. “They let me improvise, play, be silly, and dance on the verge of asking, “Is he [good] though?” Those sorts of things, “added Roth. “Is he telling the truth here? was the constant concern. Where are we heading, exactly?”

The Reformation of the Abomination

Although Roth did not go into detail about his character’s future, he pleaded with viewers to think about how “maximum security solitary imprisonment” may impact a figure like The Abomination. What harm does that cause someone? Roth went on. “What does that get him into? Who is this man now, exactly? Should we place our full trust in him or not? That’s up to you to decide.”

Jen Walters plays the single 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered monster in the nine half-hour episodes of the show She-Behemoth. The Marvel Studios/Disney+ series She-Hulk made its debut appearance in 2019, and it was subsequently revealed to be a half-hour courtroom comedy. Roth reprised his role as Emil Blonsky/Abomination from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk with Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Along with Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass, and Renée Elise Goldsberry, Benedict Wong plays Wong in the ensemble.

Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk made her début in Marvel Comics’ The Savage She-Hulk #1 in 1980, having been created by Stan Lee and John Buscema. The Hulk was revealed to be the cousin of Bruce Banner, who had a blood transfusion from Bruce and later developed the Hulk’s abilities. Jennifer was able to continue living her normal life as a lawyer while still defending the globe, unlike her cousin, who had to turn into something else.

Every Thursday on Disney+, new episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which was written by Jessica Gao and directed by Kat Coiro, are broadcast.
