What We Know So Far About Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Netflix Series Utap

Utap

Arnold Schwarzenegger will feature in his first scripted television series, Fubar or Utap, which will premiere in 2020. Here’s all we know so far about the action series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. According to Deadline, competition for the property was fierce, but Netflix finally won the bidding war. The revelation is quite interesting because Schwarzenegger has minimal experience in television and has never played a prominent role in a series. The herculean Austrian has been in dozens of films over the last five decades, but his first significant TV role will be on Netflix.

Schwarzenegger’s choice as the series’ lead builds on his prior work with Skydance, having previously played the T-800 in Terminator: Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate. The first season will consist of 8 episodes.

The new series’ two principal production firms are Skydance Television and Blackjack Films Inc. The acquisition of Utap also extends Netflix and Skydance’s beneficial partnership. In 2020, the company collaborated with Denver and Delilah Films on The Old Guard, and with Bay Films on 6 Underground, one of Netflix’s most expensive productions to date. Grace and Frankie, as well as the science fiction series Altered Carbon, were also produced by the company. The series’ creator, executive producer, and writer is Nick Santora. He’s best renowned for his work on hit shows including Scorpion, Breakout Kings, Lie to Me, and Prison Break. Santora is also working on the biopic Dog Gone, starring Rob Lowe, under his production business Blackjack Films.

What is the story of Utap/Fubar about?
